Induction Cooktop

Jami M 8/18/2024

We™€™re still in the midst of remodeling our kitchen, but, the cooktop has been installed. With the kitchen still incomplete, we can say now that we are pleased with how quickly foods heat and how easily the surface is wiped clean. So far, so good! Looking forward to preparing Thanksgiving dinner with 5 burners!

Noisy induction cooktop; not for a quiet kitchen.

Healthy quiet home 7/30/2024

The cooktop is very noisy. Loud fan starts up even before any pot is placed on the cooktop. It runs at high and is loud regardless of whether cooktop is used on multiple burners at high setting or on low setting single burner.I had a previous Frigidair induction cooktop for >10 years in a previous home. That cooktop was whisper quiet. The new cooktop (Model Number: FPIC3677RF) was supposed to be very quiet as well according to Frigidaire advertising and reviews. However, it is not. It is possible that in my particular case (Serial Number: 1F23496349) the controller of fans are malfunctioning. However, repair service sent by Frigidaire refused to do anything about it. Therefore, I wonder whether this is just a loud model that will be noisy for everyone.

Moving to induction

djw24 7/15/2024

I have experimented with a one burner induction cooker for a while, and when our gas stove top had exhausted its useful life, jumped at the chance to switch to an induction cooktop. I really like the spacing to the cooktop and its ability to manage multiple pots and pans. I am very happy with the Frigidare model that we purchased and it fit perfectly in the opening that we had, and with a little adjusting and sawing we were able to keep the drawers under the cooktop. Great value and nice worksaver.

Excellent replacement for Gas cooktop

FGTime 5/4/2024

So far we are very pleased with this upgrade to induction cooking. The design is stylish, love having actual knobs to control the elements. The fan hum kicks on anytime you are over medium level heat and while it is a new experience, it is not loud. Just a new experience with induction. Love how responsive the elements for heating and also when you turn off the heat it stops cooking very quickly.

Induction is GREAT!!

JoshF85139 4/29/2024

We have had induction in the past so we already had the proper cookware. Our house came with an older GE glass cooktop but cooking was getting slower and slower, over 12 minutes to boil 8qt of water. New induction will do it in 3.5-4 minutes. spills dont burn to the surface and cleanup is a breeze. We wanted something with knobs so as not to deal with fussy temperature selection built into the glass. Packaging was great, instructions were clear and concise and install was straight forward. There is a minor buzz sound due to the induction elements, but noting to be alarmed with. Over all very, very please with our purchase.

5 burner induction cooktop

Nic28 4/24/2024

I am not an expert cook, just a regular, get dinner on the table kind of cook. Have been using it for about 6 months. Getting used to it and the new cookware I had to get. It has been an adjustment. Burners definitely hum. Pot of water boils quite fast if you use power boil. I make crepes in a steel pan, but the edges don't get as brown which leads me to believe that the element is smaller than the lines indicate. Overall, it is fine for my needs, but not great, hence 4 stars.

JohnS301 2/26/2024

We love our new cooktop range. Its power is much more than we anticipated, boiling water faster than our gas stove. Installation was simple; the cooktop measures 36 inches in front which required a 50 amp fuse breaker. (40 Amp for 30™€ cooktop)

Amazing!

madoyle 2/2/2024

We have had our cooktop for a few months, and I love it. I can boil water faster, and cooking is enjoyable. I appreciate the fact that the cooktop is overtly easy to clean. The bridge feature sold me on this particular model, and it works like a dream for making pancakes using my oblong griddle. When they came to measure, they did not measure correctly, and our current propane gas top was slightly larger than the induction cooktop, so the installer improvised by creating a "strip" of metal to go along the back to fill the gap. It will fit properly when we get to the point of replacing the countertops. This Induction Cooktop will not disappoint. Do not hesitate to purchase.

Awesome Upgrade From Electric Eyes

Stroke Ace 1/16/2024

I ordered this unit because I really wanted the knobs versus the touchscreen controls. It has worked well in the first month we have had it, and I love the induction cooking method. It's instant on and instant off instead of the annoying pulsing I hated with electric eyes. I has thrown an error code once or twice, but those went away by turning all the burners off momentarily. Would recommend.

Used it once so far - heats up very quickly and cleans up quickly as well. The audible indicators as well as a red light when it's on is helpful. The lights blink if your cookware isn't "connected" to it. Note, I did have to buy new cookware (not unexpected).

LuBerlin 5/2/2023

We are so pleased with this cook top. It replaces an Electrolux Icon that gave up the ghost after 15 or so years. We love the knobs and will be much more satisfied when the granite yard gets the frame installed on my counter so the cook top won't fall through the hole that was cut for the Icon!! This cook top is quiet and cooks evenly. Love the bridge option that allows use of two elements for griddles or large pots. Have been using it only a couple of weeks, but can see that it will be just what we need in our kitchen.

Three weeks in - so far so good

CaryK 4/26/2023

Mostly very happy for the switch from LP gas to induction. I have never used an induction cooktop before so I can't compare to other brands or models. I like the knobs and the general layout of the burners though they seem a little bit too close together. It is a challenge finding cookware, I thought my cast iron pans would be great, but the bottoms are not as perfect as the stove wants so they cook unevenly. Water boils so fast and the burners change temperature a half a second after turning the knob so there is a lot of control which I love. The cooktop itself is quite a bit smaller than the 36" gas cooktop I took out and that made installation quite finicky since I had only 1/8" of overlap onto the counter after having built the opening smaller. It did work, but a little more overlap would be nice. Cleanup is so easy and after three weeks I am seeing that the surface is pretty sturdy and doesn't scratch easily which is a relief. It is pretty quiet except when it is not happy with a pan and lid that is not as perfect as the stove wants. I will gradually be looking for higher quality cookware since even new but cheaper cookware is not what the cooktop is asking for. Compared to other brands, Frigidaire was very reasonably priced and that influenced my purchase since it is a big investment for new technology that may still be evolving. All in all I am happy so far.

Although the cooktop cooks nicely, right after the warranty was up, one of the burners quit working, a $562.00 repair, after 6 months, it happened again, Frigidaire refused to do anything about it even though it was an obvious defect in the product. Out of 5 Frigidaire appliances purchased, only one has worked correctly. We will NEVER purchase another product from them!

We™€™ve adjusted well to induction from gas. We loved our gas cooktop but became concerned with the potential health and environmental impacts of using it. Great Performance, WITH KNOBS!

JimS123 12/5/2022

Before purchasing this, I spent ~6 months using a Duxtop portable induction cooktop so that I could learn the ins and outs of induction cooking, and as a result I had some experience and expectations going into this.I specifically chose this Frigidaire model because it is controlled with traditional knobs, rather than a touchscreen menu, and has a reasonable price tag. I find buttons to give a very sad cooking experience, and I was alarmed at reviews of EVERY touchscreen model, which reported problems when the touchscreen got wet or even damp. BTW the knobs themselves are robust metal (not plastic), feel high quality, and are super easy to take off and clean. The cooktop itself gives a medium-pitch hum during operation. No high-pitched noises - in contrast to the portable unit which got constant complaints from the kids with their young undamaged ears. We all find the operational noise level quite reasonable. One minor complaint is that sometimes the cooktop will silently deliver less power than you have come to expect. For example, if you put a small pot on a large burner, it may deliver less power than if you put the same pot on a small burner. Also, I tried one of those silicone mats to prevent slipping and scratching, but the extra distance from the surface was apparently too much and reduced the power by 50%. I wish the cooktop would report when it reduces power. But I suspect all cooktops behave the same in this respect. In summary, this is a beautiful cooktop, with pleasing and intuitive knob controls, and has been performing very well in the 5 months we've been using it.

Very happy with this induction cooktop. I bought it because I liked the idea of having manual control over each cook element and because i'd read about many problems with touch control (water on the cooktop interferes, have to tap multiple times to adjust heat, etc.). It heats water rapidly, cooks smoothly and is easy to control.

Highly disappointed

Hope B 11/21/2022

I have waited so long for my new kitchen and we ordered all Frigidaire products. The dishwasher is quiet, but holds a lot of condensation, the fridge drawers seem cheap and watch the doors; they were dent very easily. I'll find out if my double oven is worth the money when I cook the turkey and ham in my double oven. I did purchase a 5 year warranty, but that has not panned out with this repair service for the past two months. My main disappointment is my 36 inch induction cooktop with the knobs. When we received it, it was already scratched up. I placed a review based on whether or not my cooktop was used or refurbished, but the review was never accepted. I hope this one will be. The largest burner on my cooktop is not working. Service men came, diagnosed, ordered the part, and we got the part in less than a week. We understood that the cost for the repair is over $1200, pretty much the cost of the cooktop (that I think was refurbished). Why couldn't they just order another cooktop for that cost? Meanwhile, appointments were not kept by them, we find out that another part is in backorder, and my newly scratched cooktop's largest burner is not working for the holidays. My brother decided to go with a gas cooktop and that is what I recommend. At this point, it doesn't seem that Frigidaire is going to accept any responsibility for this unfortunate occurrence, as I am sure their appliances are working fine for the holidays. Meanwhile, I will have to purchase a portable cooktop for my new Frigidaire kitchen with new Frigidaire appliances. All the best if you have the same cooktop!

Great cooktop, lose the bridge

royr 9/20/2022

This cooktop works well, it is powerful and sturdy. The knobs are much more intuitive than touch controls. The one thing I would change is to get rid of the "bridge" controls. First of all, the knob is confusing, not like the others. Secondly, I have yet to find an induction compatible griddle that fits the zone and is smooth surface. Perhaps for this price, Frigidaire should supply a suitable griddle. However, just leave off the bridge controls, it is easy enough to turn two knobs if you want to adjust a big surface temperature.

Love Hate relationship

MaeNot 6/27/2022

Purchased early in 2021 all new appliances from Frigidaire for our kitchen remodel. I've had 1 repair on the refrigerator and this is my second on the built in cook top! First one the large burner went out which was within the 1 year warranty. Now the motherboard has died and without an extended warranty its costing me almost $1000 with service call and install. When working, this cooktop model #FPIC3677RF is amazing! Tried to call Frigidaire for help and they tell you they are busy and hang up before you get to tell them your situation. Hate automation! I will have to write a letter.
