The fridge was working well until last month October when it suddenly stopped cooling. I had a technician check it and they confirmed the compressor was broken and not working. I cant believe that after only 7 years this would happen and now I have to pay $500 to LG just to have someone come out and replace the compressor. Very disappointing for such an essential appliance

Seven years ago we remodeled our kitchen and I wrote a review of the very first brand new fridge we ever bought. I loved everything about it Every day for seven years I loved my refrigerator Then just as we were getting ready to sell our home that refrigerator died. It stopped cooling in the fridge and the freezer. The fix was a minimum of $2000. I was heartbroken. There had been a lawsuit about the compressors going out and the window for replacement was extended to 10 years but it only covered the $300-$400 compressor. Labor was a minimum of $1500. That beautiful refrigerator went to the landfill. So sad. Will not buy another LG. 7 years is too short a lifetime for an appliance.

Purchased this product in July of 2018 the compressor went in 2021 luckily I purchased extended warranty.
August 2024 the fridge stop cooling called someone to have a look at it they say the compressor is gone cost $65.00 for the service call they say it will cost $950.00 to replace the compressor Im so disappointed we spend $3200.00 and 6 years later we have to pay to get it repair.

This Company USAPPLIANCEFIX was referred by LG to service my refrigerator due to a Failed Compressor they scheduled the appointment and then it was cancelled with Very short notice and rescheduled 3 times it took several weeks to get the service completed on my appliance. I would Not recommend this Company to anyone nor will I pay to use them in the future. The Technician who did finally come did a good job. But the Third party Customer Service was not Good.

This has got to be the worst refrigerator on the market. Weve owned this refrigerator for less than five years and its unrepairable. This unit has be repaired several times for the same problem within that time. We have been putin touch with a Presidential Liason reps. promised many things through email and have received nothing. Weeks have passed so we were forced to purchase a new refrigerator. I think this rep exists just to keep so pacifier so youll go away. Ive been promised calls and have not been contacted AT ALL. UNBELIEVABLE

Kept things semi-frozen. After only 2 years Compressor gave out. Very disappointed with purchase. Found out LG had class action lawsuit against them for this same issue with defective compressor. Dont buy it.

Love this refrigerator but my clear shelves in the instadoor broke within the first year and cant seem to be replaced. They just shattered where they sat. Very strange. The compressor went out after 5 years but the company immediately sent a new one to our handyman and has been fixed. Super fast delivery for that as well. Great company just need to shore up a few of the cool features

By far the most disappointing fridge we have ever owned. We had it for a little over 5 year and as everyone else says BAD COMPRESSOR Quoted 1500 for a repair like why would I do this when a new fridge is just over that price. Terrible product Of course no customer service to help

I read every comment about this refrigerator before buying it where it said it had bad compressors but I didnt think it was going to happen to me well yes it happened to me a week before I turned 5 years old the compressor stopped working and everything What was in the refrigerator went into the trash for around $500 I called LG a week later but because I called one day after turning 5 years old they only covered the compressor they didnt cover labor I had to pay $500 to have them change the compressor if I could go back in time I wouldnt buy LG its not worth paying almost $3000 for something that looks nice but is garbage.

I bought this refrigerator in 2020 not 2017. Last week the refrigerator went bad I lost all my food The compressor had to be replaced and according to the service person they have a lot of trouble with these compressors. I took out the extended warranty through home Depot and it took days just to get the service call set up. Next refrigerator I would look towards Bosch or KitchenAid

Very sad that I wasted $2700 on this LG refrigerator. We purchased the fridge in 2017 upon recommendation of our contractor and was the worst mistake ever. It 2021 it completely stopped cooling and we lost hundreds of dollars in food. The compressor had to be replaced and it took over one week to replace. Thats when I learned that LG had a class action lawsuit for compressor failures. I was shocked when a cooling failure happened again this week. The repair person tells me there is leakage of refrigerant and that the condenser coil needs to be replaced and the charge is $790 since I am out of warranty. Very disappointed in this poor quality fridge with multiple broken parts after only 6 years of having the fridge. Save your time and money and health and dont buy LG

I have had this unit for less than four years and lost the compressor in the refrigerator trying to get a service call to get it repaired was Pointless. No service tech will service a LG refrigerator in this area. The customer Service at LG Has been very poor I do not recommend LG or the company at all. Been without a refrigerator for over two weeks now I would think a refrigerator should last longer than four years specially at the cost we paid.

I loved this fridge The 3 produce drawers and the organization of the freezer were fantastic for a busy family with lots of food. I liked the ice and water in the door. Filters were easy to change and I felt like they kept my fridge smelling great and water tasting fantastic All was well until.the compressor went out. LG sent a contractor to confirm then shipped a warranty compressor replacement. The fridge cooled for a few hours then started to warm again. Never got to holding temp.

Ice maker is flawless. Water dispenser I believe is faulty and dispenses water with or without a filter. Cant tell the difference in taste. Size is great for a large family.
Cons- wifi disconnects after 3 days and will only reconnect when unplugging and plugging back in the refrigerator or running the audible diagnostics. Fridge runs warm sometimes and self diagnosis states refrigerator is in defrost mode. Unable to manually turn off defrost mode. Fridge doors are too thin and dent super easily. Linear compressor reliability is yet to be sorted out.
